I'M BACK & I'M BROWN! :D
Wow - The past 3 days were one helluva ride! So my mother, Shelley & me went on a 3D2N trip to Rawa Island - a tineetiny island in Malaysia that's pretty hush-hush. Its great to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city and just do nothing! I mean sure, a little voice in my head went CTs, CTs, CTs, and yeah, I was kinda worried about it - but I promised myself to have as much fun as I can now - its been ages since I've been on a holiday which was truly a holiday. (Okay, so me and shells did do some- just SOME - studying - BUT we really had to anyways!) Anyways, the island was GREAT! I mean, its not crowded/commercialised, the food's to die for (I'm talking lasagna, roast beef, lamb, fish..etcetc...), the beach+sea is just mesmerizing, the staff is just amazing - better than I could ask for (: We headed off on Wednesday morning (damn early) from Singapore to Johor Bahru, Johor Bahru to Mersing (the terminal that has boats going off to tonnes of other islands) and from Mersing (on speedboat) to Rawa Island. Arrived (at about 1pm?), lunched, checked-in (at about..2?), changed, yadayada and BAM! there marks the start of 3 days of having fun and lazing around too (: We snorkeled, swam, jumped off the jetty, camwhored with Shell's totally waterproof camera, slide down the famous slide - by the time we returned the equipment (my mom managed to lose one snorkel set.zomg) it was alr 7plus and we headed back to our beachfront chalet for a shower, which took damn long ergo making us late for dinner - about 30mins left before buffet closed? lol. After dinner we headed back, stargazed a bit, repainted our chipped nails, studied on our balcony before heading to LALA LAND! SIDETRACK: You have no idea, and i mean NONE, how much we're missing out living in such a lighted up city like Singapore. I swear, I was blown away, amazed, awestruck (and a long list of words all meaning the same thing) when I looked up into the sky at night, on my first night there. There's so many stars, a GAZILLION of them, just staring back at me, and the stars just go on, and on and on. It's really really REALLY beautiful beyond compare, I swear - I just tremble in its utter beauty. We managed to spot out some constellations, found the biggest brightest northstar - oh man, that's one thing I'll miss most. In the lighted up city we're in, there's simply no chance. Anyhow, slept late and woke up late, LIKE SUPER LATE - breakfast was like ending in 25mins when we woke up, so we chiong to go zao can! YUMMY - had pancakes, bread, etc etc and went on for a kayak around the whole island! IT'S POSSIBLE, apparently so! LOL! it was superduper fun luh - we saw caves and tonnes of sea birds - plus the thrill of the sport was simply great, cos the waters was choppy and currents were strong but we fought it Well, we were supposed to go trekking - I really really wanted to do it before sunrise, I even woke up and all - but those LAZY BUMS didn't wanna )): Oh well, anyways, we woke up + packed up+changed for the beach (since we had until...2pm before we left the island) & headed for a heavy yummy breakfast. Then we snorkeled more, and I brought my mum snorkeling - darn proud of my deep-water-phobic mom, she really pulled through :P After we snorkelled, me and shells suntanned (& we forgot sunblock zomg) for like half an hour and we headed back to the chalet to shower and change whilst mummers went to check out! Later, we headed to the neighboring chalet for drinks (MY HOLIDAY FAVE IS NOW PINA COLADA!) and we ate calamari & mee goreng (mum's). We also took some awesome pics where the rocks were, and before we knew it, the boat honked, marking our time to go! )): It was beautiful indeed + we made friends with a young couple with an adorable 7 yr old son and a delightful 6months old baby girl :D Life's a beach, eh? Pics are on FB (: |
